a loosli learning summer
Are you looking for easy to implement summer learning ideas or fun, enriching activities that provide little to no prep work? Are you a year-round homeschool family who wants to take a break from a traditional homeschooling schedule but also prevent summer learning loss during that break? Well, let here's a brief overview of how to create your own summer camp!
By definition, a camp can be described as a supervised program held during summer to foster personal growth for children by providing them fun, safe educational/recreational programs, outdoor experiences, academic activities and group activities while away from "home" during the summer months. The primary purpose of many camps is educational, athletic, or cultural development. A summer camp environment may allow children to learn new skills in a safe and nurturing environment. There are sooooo many different types of camps from sports to performing arts to overnight camps.
Many of us tend to send our children to a paid or free summer camp outside of the home. But what if you can't afford to do so? or what if you are year-round homeschoolers and want to still focus on academics? Below is our traditional summer homeschooling schedule. I call it our Loosli Learning Summer Camp. The scholars are still learning but there is less focus on time restraints, direct instruction, written work, tests, etc. Below is the typical schedule I use for my own children. All of the activities and resources are posted in our digital classroom.
If you would like to help creating a digital classroom or creating a loosli learning summer camp, please feel free to contact us.
Happy Summer!
